Ferrum High School learner, Eric de Wet has been very busy wrestling his way to the top! The South African Wrestling Federation brought us up-to-date with his latest achievements.

On 9 February 2019 Eric de Wet took part in the South African National trials that was held in Secunda. He earned a 1st place and was selected to the South African National Junior team.

Eric participated in the African Continental Championships during 26 – 30 March 2019 in Hammamet, Tunisia. This participation earned him his Junior Protea Colours.

He competed in the u/63kg Greco Romain division and ended 6th overall. Countries that participated in this championship were Tunisia, Algeria, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Kenya, Namibia, Sudan and Egypt just to name a few.

Eric’s work has just started as he will be going through intense programs at the High Performance Centre to establish a report on what he needs to do to move forward.
